A Little About Me

I have taught 2 years in the classroom and 1.5 years virtually. During that transition to online teaching, I realized that I enjoyed using technology to create virtual materials for my learners.

When I began researching instructional design, I realized that I had knowledge gaps to fill if I wanted to be an effective instructional designer. I began to research learning theories and frameworks like the ADDIE model, Mayer’s Principles of Multimedia Learning, and Action Mapping.

Next, I familiarized myself with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Photoshop, Rise 360, and Vyond. I began using these authoring tools to build my first projects.

Throughout my professional development, I have learned that my past as an educator has given me hands-on experience identifying learning gaps, writing gap-based objectives, creating content that engages my learners, and analyzing data about learner growth.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to consult with clients to make decisions and create projects for various companies. During these experiences, I was able to learn how to communicate clearly with my clients and work with subject matter experts to build projects or make changes to current projects.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. I hope you will take a peek at my Portfolio under the “Portfolio” tab at the top of the page!
